Euthanasia in front of understanding people

A French woman, Madelein Z (69), who suffered from a debilitating disease took her life on last friday, in Alicante (south-east Spain), with the attendance of a pro-euthanasia group called "DMD".
Volunteers from this pro-euthanasia group claim that there is nothing wrong in offering moral support and just watching. However, the son has filed a complaint to get this investigated.
One of the goals of this group is "to promote every person's right to dispose freely of his or her body and life, and to choose freely and legally the moment and the means to end it".
Nothing is said about a minimum age, a special motivation or the existence of severe health problems.
Euthanasia
became a well debated issue in 2004 after the Oscar-winning film The Sea Within focused attention on the case of Ramon Sampedro, the quadriplegic who campaigned to be helped to die.
No general conclusions arose from this debate.
