Santa Claus & the Three Wise Men

Tonight is a special night for many spanish children, for they will receive the visit of the Three Wise Men, carrying presents. However, and due to foreign influences, we could currently divide spanish children in these groups:
  • Those whose presents are brought by the Three Wise Men (a.k.a. "The Magicians Kings"), during the eve of January 6th. This is the Spanish tradition.
  • Those whose presents are bought by Santa Claus (a.k.a. "Papá Noel"), during the eve of December 25th. This allows them to play with their toys during the whole winter holiday.
  • Those who are visited by the four of them, in both days.
  • Other traditions: Olentzero in Basque Country, Jesus himself, invisible friends...
Currently, no law is expected on the matter as to decide who can legally bring the presents (but everything could happen).

As a consequence, today there will be held parades on every spanish city, with the Wise Men. They will throw candy to children, and some candy will be throwed back at them.

Fortunately, we all pay taxes to clean the next day mess.
